The Cypriot flag features a white background with a copper-orange silhouette of the island of Cyprus above two crossed green olive branches. The copper color represents the island's rich copper deposits, from which Cyprus gets its name. The olive branches symbolize peace between Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
Cyprus is one of only two countries in the world whose flag features a map of the country itself (the other is Kosovo).
