Kyrgyzstan's flag is red with a yellow sun containing 40 rays in the center, inside which is a depiction of a tunduk (the roof crown of a yurt). Red represents valor and bravery, the sun symbolizes peace and wealth, and the 40 rays represent the 40 Kyrgyz tribes united by the hero Manas.
The symbol in the center of the sun is the tunduk, the wooden crown of a traditional Kyrgyz yurt, representing the family home and by extension the universe.
