Bear Pride

communitystripeshorizontalearth-tones

Created by Craig Byrnes in 1995 as part of his psychology thesis, this flag features seven stripes in earth tones from dark brown to black, with a bear paw print in the upper left corner. The stripe colours represent the fur colours of bears around the world.

Byrnes created the flag as part of his university psychology thesis studying bear culture. The seven stripe colours can also be seen as representing the diversity of human hair and skin tones.
