Nidwalden
cantonskeyredwhite
The flag of Nidwalden is a red field featuring a white double key, with the two keys joined and pointing in opposite directions. Like Obwalden, the key symbolism references Saint Peter, but Nidwalden uses a double key to distinguish itself from its sister half-canton. The red background and white charge maintain the traditional color palette of central Swiss cantons.
Nidwalden is home to the Bürgenstock resort, perched on a ridge 500 meters above Lake Lucerne, which has hosted celebrities and world leaders for over a century.
