Cantabria
communitiescoat-of-armswhitered
The flag of Cantabria is a white field with the coat of arms at the center and two horizontal red stripes at the top and bottom edges. The coat of arms features the Stele of Barros, a pre-Roman carved stone disk, and a golden tower representing the role of Cantabrian warriors in the Reconquista.
The Stele of Barros on the flag dates back to the pre-Roman Cantabri people, making it one of the oldest symbols featured on any regional flag in Europe.
Adopted: 1984
