The flag of the Usti nad Labem Region represents this northern Bohemian region along the Elbe (Labe) River and the German border. The region includes the dramatic sandstone formations of Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the industrial Ore Mountains. Historically part of the Sudetenland, the region saw mass expulsion of ethnic Germans after World War II. The Elbe River flows through dramatic gorges here before crossing into Germany.
Bohemian Switzerland National Park in this region features the Pravcicka Brana, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe, which served as a filming location for the Chronicles of Narnia.
