Aragon

communitiesstripescoat-of-armsheraldic

The flag of Aragon features four horizontal red stripes on a golden-yellow background, with the coat of arms of Aragon at the center. These red and gold bars, known as the Bars of Aragon or Senyera, are among the oldest heraldic symbols in Europe. The coat of arms includes the Cross of Inigo Arista, the Cross of Alcoraz, the bars themselves, and the Moors' heads.

The red and gold Bars of Aragon date back to at least the 12th century and influenced the flags of Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands.
