Jordan's flag consists of horizontal black, white, and green stripes with a red chevron triangle on the hoist side bearing a white seven-pointed star. The colors are Pan-Arab colors representing the Abbasid, Umayyad, and Fatimid dynasties. The seven-pointed star represents the seven verses of the opening surah of the Quran.
Jordan's flag is nearly identical to the Palestinian flag; the only difference is that Jordan's flag includes a white seven-pointed star on the red triangle.
