oceaniabluestarstripes
Adopted in 1979, the flag of the Marshall Islands features a deep blue background with two diagonal stripes of orange and white radiating from the lower hoist corner to the upper fly corner, and a large white star in the upper left. The 24-pointed star represents the electoral districts, with four elongated rays symbolizing the cross of Christianity.
The orange and white stripes represent the two parallel island chains of Ratak (sunrise) and Ralik (sunset) that make up the country.
