Pahang is the largest state on the Malay Peninsula and home to Taman Negara, one of the world's oldest tropical rainforests. The simplicity of the flag belies the state's rich history as a major tin and gold mining centre.
Pahang's Taman Negara rainforest is estimated to be over 130 million years old, making it one of the oldest tropical rainforests on Earth.
