The Armenian tricolor features horizontal stripes of red, blue, and orange. Red symbolizes the Armenian Highland and the blood shed for independence, blue represents the will to live under peaceful skies, and orange stands for the creative talent and hard-working nature of the people.
Armenia's flag was originally adopted in 1918 when Armenia first declared independence, then readopted in 1990 before the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
