Yemen

asiapan-arabtricolorhorizontal-stripes

Yemen's flag consists of three horizontal stripes of red, white, and black. The red stripe represents the blood of martyrs and unity, white symbolizes hope for a bright future, and black stands for the dark past. The design is a simplified version of the Pan-Arab colors without any additional emblems.

Yemen's flag was created by combining elements from the flags of the two former states: the Yemen Arab Republic (North Yemen) and the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (South Yemen) upon unification in 1990.
