Australian Capital Territory

australiaaustraliaterritorycoat of arms

The flag of the Australian Capital Territory is divided vertically into blue on the hoist side and gold on the fly side, with a modified version of the Canberra coat of arms centred on the flag. The coat of arms features a white castle representing the city's role as the seat of government, a black swan, and a crown above a sword. The blue and gold colours are the official colours of the territory and symbolise loyalty and the Australian landscape.

The ACT flag was only officially adopted in 1993, making it the newest of all Australian state and territory flags, though the coat of arms it features dates back to 1928.
