Yukon
canadacanadaterritorytricolour
The flag is divided into three vertical panels: green on the left representing the forests, white in the center for snow, and blue on the right for the territory's many waterways. The territorial coat of arms sits centered in the white panel, featuring a red St. George's Cross, a roundel of vair (representing fur trade), and a malamute dog standing atop the shield.
The Yukon's coat of arms on the flag features an Alaskan malamute standing on a mound of snow atop the shield, making it one of the few flags in the world with a dog as a prominent element. The malamute represents the territory's sled dog heritage during the Klondike Gold Rush.
Adopted: 1968
