Adopted in 2006, it reverts to a design first used in 1963. The sky blue represents peace, the red stripe stands for the blood of martyrs, the yellow borders symbolize the country's wealth, and the yellow star represents unity.
The DRC has changed its flag multiple times, with the current design being a return to the flag used shortly after independence from Belgium.
