Acre
statestrianglestardiagonal
The flag of Acre features a yellow triangle on the left side with a green field and a red diagonal stripe running from the lower-left to the upper-right corner. A white star sits within the yellow triangle. The green represents the forests of the Amazon, the yellow stands for the region's mineral wealth, and the red stripe symbolizes the blood shed during the struggle to annex the territory from Bolivia in the early 1900s. The lone star represents the state's unity.
Acre was independent for a brief period as the Republic of Acre before being purchased by Brazil from Bolivia for 2 million British pounds in 1903.
