The coat of arms of Satakunta displays a black bear rampant with a golden collar on a blue field. The name Satakunta derives from an old Finnish word meaning 'hundred,' referring to a medieval administrative unit. The region sits on Finland's western coast along the Bothnian Sea.
Satakunta is home to Old Rauma, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring one of the largest unified wooden towns in the Nordic countries.
