Agder

countiescoat of armsleafblue

The coat of arms of Agder county features a golden oak leaf on a blue field. The oak leaf symbolizes the region's extensive oak forests and its historical significance as a timber-producing area. Agder was formed in 2020 by merging the former counties of Aust-Agder and Vest-Agder. The blue background represents the sea and the sky, reflecting the county's long southern coastline known as the Norwegian Riviera.

Agder's coastline is known as the 'Norwegian Riviera' and contains the southernmost point of mainland Norway, Lindesnes, where a famous lighthouse has guided sailors since 1656.
