Vestland

countiescoat of armschevronred

The coat of arms of Vestland county features a red field with a golden stylized 'V' or chevron pattern. The design represents the dramatic fjords that cut into western Norway's coastline, with the angular shapes suggesting mountain peaks meeting the sea. Vestland was formed in 2020 by merging Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane. The county contains some of Norway's most famous natural attractions, including the Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord.

Vestland contains the Sognefjord, the longest fjord in Norway at 204 kilometers and the deepest at 1,308 meters, making it the largest fjord in all of Europe.
