Nepal's flag is the only national flag that is not rectangular or square; it consists of two stacked crimson-red triangular pennants with blue borders. The upper triangle contains a white crescent moon, and the lower one has a white twelve-pointed sun. The shapes represent the Himalayan mountains and the two major religions (Hinduism and Buddhism).
Nepal's flag is the only national flag that is not quadrilateral. Its mathematical construction is even described in the country's constitution, with precise geometric instructions for drawing it.
