West Sussex

The West Sussex flag features the six gold martlets of Sussex on a blue field, shared with the historic county arms. Like East Sussex, it uses the ancient South Saxon symbol but is identified by its specific proportions and registration.
West Sussex was the site of the first powered flight in Britain, made by the Wright brothers' associate at the Aero Club's base near Chichester in 1910.
Adopted: 2011
