Vatican City

europebicolourvertical-stripesreligious

The Vatican City flag is a vertical bicolour of yellow and white with the papal insignia on the white half. The insignia features the crossed keys of Saint Peter beneath the papal tiara. The yellow and white colors represent the gold and silver keys of the Kingdom of Heaven given to Saint Peter by Jesus.

The Vatican flag is one of only two square national flags in the world, along with Switzerland's, and it features the smallest country's most recognizable symbol: the papal keys.
