Saskatchewan

The flag is divided horizontally into two equal halves: green on top representing the northern forests, and gold on the bottom representing the southern wheat fields and prairies. The provincial shield of arms appears in the upper left corner, and a western red lily (the provincial flower) is displayed on the right side of the flag.
Saskatchewan's flag was chosen through a province-wide design competition. The western red lily on the flag is the provincial floral emblem, and the green-and-gold colour scheme has become so associated with Saskatchewan that it is used by the Saskatchewan Roughriders football team.
Adopted: 1969
