Valais

cantonsstripesredwhite

The flag of Valais features thirteen red and white vertical stripes, with the white stripes being narrower than the red ones. The thirteen stripes represent the thirteen districts (dizains/Zenden) of the canton. This distinctive pattern sets it apart from all other Swiss cantonal flags and gives it a resemblance to other striped national flags, making it instantly recognizable.

The Matterhorn, perhaps Switzerland's most iconic mountain, is located in Valais, and the canton produces the majority of Switzerland's wine.
