The flag of Terengganu is a black field with a white crescent, star, and a heraldic crest. The black represents the people, while the white crescent and star are symbols of Islam. Terengganu is located on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula and is known for its beautiful coastline and islands, as well as its strong Islamic traditions. The state was historically a major trading port and maintained close ties with the Malay kingdoms of the region.

Terengganu is home to the Terengganu Inscription Stone, dating to 1303 CE, which contains the earliest known Jawi (Arabic-script Malay) writing in Southeast Asia.
