Adygea
republicsgreengoldstars
The flag of Adygea features a green field with twelve gold stars arranged in an arc above three crossed gold arrows. The twelve stars represent the twelve Circassian (Adyghe) tribes, while the three arrows symbolize their unity. Green is the traditional color of Islam and of the Circassian people, reflecting the republic's Adyghe cultural heritage. The design draws from the historical Circassian flag and emphasizes the bonds between the Adyghe tribal groups who have inhabited the northwestern Caucasus for millennia.
The Adyghe people are one of the oldest indigenous groups in the Caucasus, with a presence in the region dating back over 6,000 years.
