Solomon Islands

Adopted in 1977, the flag of the Solomon Islands is divided diagonally by a thin yellow stripe from the lower hoist to the upper fly. The upper triangle is blue representing water, the lower triangle is green representing the land, and five white stars in the blue section represent the original five main island groups.

Although the country now has nine provinces, the flag retains five stars representing the original five districts at the time of independence.
