Turks and Caicos Islands
territoriesblueunion jackemblem
The Turks and Caicos flag features a blue ensign with the Union Jack in the canton and the territorial coat of arms on the fly. The shield in the coat of arms depicts a conch shell, a spiny lobster, and a Turk's head cactus β the three natural symbols most closely associated with the islands.
The islands are named after the Turk's head cactus (which resembles a Turkish fez hat) and 'caicos', derived from the Lucayan word 'caya hico' meaning 'string of islands'.
