The Glamorgan flag features three silver chevrons on a red field, derived from the arms of the Clare family, medieval lords of Glamorgan. The chevrons are one of the most recognisable heraldic devices in Welsh history.
Glamorgan was once the most industrialised county in Wales, with the valleys producing coal that powered the British Empire.
