Adopted in 1974 at independence, the flag features red borders with yellow and green triangles pointing inward. A nutmeg symbol on the left green triangle represents the nation's most famous export. Seven stars represent Grenada's seven parishes.
Grenada is known as the 'Spice Isle' and the nutmeg on its flag reflects that it was once the world's second-largest nutmeg producer.
