Kuwait's flag features horizontal stripes of green, white, and red with a black trapezoid on the hoist side. The colors are Pan-Arab colors: green represents the fertile land, white symbolizes purity, red stands for the blood of enemies, and black represents the defeat of enemies on the battlefield.
The colors of Kuwait's flag were inspired by a poem by Safie Al-Deen Al-Hali, which assigned colors to Arab virtues: green for the land, white for deeds, red for swords, and black for battles.
