The flag of Luxembourg is a horizontal tricolour of red, white, and light blue. The colors are derived from the 13th-century coat of arms of the House of Luxembourg. Though very similar to the Dutch flag, Luxembourg's blue stripe is a distinctly lighter shade of sky blue.
Luxembourg's flag is so similar to the Dutch flag that there have been multiple parliamentary proposals to change it to something more distinctive, but none have succeeded.
