The Dutch flag is a horizontal tricolour of red, white, and blue. It evolved from the Prince's Flag of orange, white, and blue, with the orange gradually replaced by red in the 17th century. The flag is considered the oldest tricolour still in use and influenced the design of the French and Russian flags.
The Dutch tricolour is considered the oldest tricolour in continuous use and inspired the design of the French, Russian, and many other national flags.
