Mongolia's flag has three vertical stripes of red, blue, and red, with the golden Soyombo symbol on the hoist-side red stripe. Blue represents the eternal sky, red symbolizes progress, and the Soyombo is a national symbol containing fire, sun, moon, yin-yang, and other elements representing freedom and independence.
The Soyombo symbol's top element is a flame, which in Mongolian tradition represents growth, wealth, and success; the three tongues represent past, present, and future prosperity.
