Angus
scotlandlionheraldicred-gold-white
The Angus flag features a red lion rampant on a gold field divided by a white pale (vertical stripe). The red lion reflects the county's connection to the Scottish Crown, as the lion rampant is Scotland's royal standard. Angus was one of the ancient provinces of the Pictish kingdom.
Angus was once known as Forfarshire and is home to Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the Queen Mother and the legendary setting of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
